06/09/2015Psychologist in Palliative Care Section “Dragan Vukotic” has been established in the premises of the Association of Psychologists of Serbia in Belgrade, on September 4th, 2015. Apart from the psychologists-founders, the Founding Assembly involved participation of prof. dr Dragana Jovanovic, the head of the Commission for Palliative Care of the Republic of Serbia, and prim. dr Natalija Samardzic, the head of the Unit for Palliative Care in the Pulmonology Clinic in the Clinical Center of Serbia. Initiator of this important event is Petar Jeknic, coordinator of the Psychological Support Program of ADRA Serbia. What is to follow from this event is working toward the ultimate goal of having increasing number of psychologists in the palliative care activities in the Serbian health system. ADRA is proud to work with Petar Jeknic within its ranks and is committed to use its resources for advancing this important cause. (Palliative Care is comprehensive – health, psychological, social and spiritual care with the objective of providing patients with serious health issues – mostly incurable, with relief from the symptoms, pain, physical stress, and mental stress of a serious illness—whatever the diagnosis.)
