New Business – New Beginning
14/03/2018International Day of the Girl
11/10/2018We are proud to present a new publication on responding on needs of girls in crisis ADRA Serbia prepared together with UNICEF and partners – My Safety and Resilience Girls Pocket-Guide.
Girls represent a particularly vulnerable population – both because of their gender and age, with additional circumstances like poverty, migration, and harmful traditional practices having negative consequences especially for them. This is why they have specific needs, and demand a special approach and attention form humanitarian organisations.
The goal of the guide is to be of practical help to organisations in establishing the projects for girls, and it touches upon some key program aspects necessary for achieving good results. It includes various subjects from guiding principles and target group identification, over contents of program activities and selection of appropriate staff, to evaluation and additional useful documents and sources.
This publication is a product of several months long meetings and field visits in Serbia and Jordan, in which a number of organisations from Serbia and Bulgaria participated. All of these organisations are conducting programs for girls themselves – whether from migrant and refugee, or Roma population – which significantly contributed to the wide perspective and applicability of the guide.
Publication is available on Serbian and English language, and you can download it here: My Safety and Resilience Girls Guide
