Integration visit of local children and refugee children to the GRUBB SHOW (part of the ADRA program “Buddy program”)

It was a joyous day for 44 schoolchildren from Belgrade. All of them – 37 pupils from the primary school “Rade Drainac”, of which 24 originally from Afghanistan attended a concert, organized by te GRUBB Foundation. The children from AC Krnjaca were joined by more Serbian pupils from the local community – 13 attending the primary school “Rade Drainac”, and 7 from primary school “Jovan Ristic”. Young and skillful performers, full of energy, made the day to everyone who was present. This was part of ADRA`s “Buddy Program”, realized within the project “Effective integration of migrant children and asylum seekers into formal education” funded by the EU and Ana and Vlada Divac Foundation.

GRUBB SHOW (Gipsy Roma Urban Balkan Beat) was created by young, internationally recognized, Roma artists. This unusual team was led by world renowned director Serge Denonkur. Performing in Canada, in the United States, the UK, France and the Netherlands, the musical has experienced a major international success.

By the customized version of this musical, with a lot of love, enthusiasm and charm young Roma people discover the world of theater, and transfer their true stories into an unforgettable theater experience – a musical of raw energy and irresistible rhythm. They represent their music and dance, a unique combination of modern urban beats and centuries old traditional Romani music. Participants, who are also composers and writers, bring their real, everyday struggle against prejudices, exclusion from society and discrimination to the stage, as well as stories of their first love and friendship. The stage program will be titled.
